Job Description
This role is responsible for supporting TRISO-X electrical engineering team members. The intern will work alongside engineers to various projects related to design of our fuel fabrication facility.
Job Profile Tasks / Responsibilities
- As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work.
- Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background with the focus mainly in instrumentation, PLC & HMI systems, and infrastructure as they relate to operational technology and controls to improve the functionality of our new facility.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Assist in preparing control systems (DCS and / or PLC) and instrument specifications and procurement packages.
- Assist in designing control system logic and configuration, graphic interfaces, and Input / Output (I / O) lists.
- Assist in coordinating and managing all vendor I / O and instrument lists; coordinate I / O to determine partitioning of the control system hardware.
- Assist with the preparation of instrumentation design deliverables, including Instrument List, Instrument Construction Specifications, Instrument Installation Details, and Instrument Location Plans.
- Assist in developing specifications for design of systems; provide assistance with piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) design including instrumentation and related mechanical design.
- Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
- Assist with tasks or projects related to electrical engineering, instrumentation and controls.
- Provide support for day-to-day departmental or team operations.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, meetings, and project discussions offering input and feedback when appropriate.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance operational efficiency or project outcomes.
- Help organize and maintain project files, documents, and records.
- Conduct research and gather information for ongoing initiatives and projects.
- Help prepare reports, presentations, or other materials as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education / training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.
A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is :
25 / hour for undergraduate students; $40 / hour for graduate students
