Job Description
We are seeking a Configuration Analyst to support Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems within a defense environment. The successful candidate will manage configuration changes and apply CM processes according to company policies, procedures, and CM plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Configuration Management (CM) tasks, ensuring systematic and measurable management of changes to approved configurations.
- Deliver and maintain the Engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) and ensure compliance with the CM Plan.
- Support configuration audits, quality checks, and resolve problems using company policies and standard procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, and Manufacturing, to ensure CM activities are effectively integrated.
- Communicate solutions, practices, and procedures clearly to stakeholders within the organization.
- Proficient in database usage.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with the MS Office Suite (including preparing metrics, reports, and documentation).
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- General knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) standards, design engineering standards, and military standards such as MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000, EIA-649, and ASME Y14.24/Y14.100.
- Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including complex formulas).
- Familiarity with CMMI requirements.
- Strong research and presentation skills.
- Experience using WindChill for managing product data.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the defense industry is highly preferred.
