Job Tittle - EMC/EMI Electrical Engineering Intern
EMC/EMI Electrical Engineering Intern to assist our staff. Our team performs Electromagnetic Compatibility/Interference (EMC/EMI) and Power Input qualification testing of Company products and programs to various military and commercial industry standards; particularly MIL-STD-461 and DO-160.
What You Will Do
Serve project as a focal point for all EMI assessment and test activities including:
Test planning and experiment preparation
Documentation support including
Preparation and review of test plans, procedures, and reports
Generate repeatable test procedures and physical test setups with test equipment and appropriate data recording
Validation of all laboratory test setups to ensure compliance with test procedures
Analysis and interpretation of results
Provide general laboratory support
When available, learn about general laboratory activities and other support test efforts
What You Will Learn
Gain knowledge in 3D printing and modeling of fixtures and test accessories
Work with a team of engineers to design, build, and execute experiments
Understand equipment certification as it pertains to electromagnetic compatibility, including design, test, and analysis.
Learn the fundamentals of electromagnetic propagation and shielding
Gain an understanding of industry shielding effectiveness standards and shielding material properties/selection
Qualifications You Must Have
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
Be capable of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment
Circuit board design experience including experience with schematic capture tools
Working knowledge of EM/circuit simulation tools
