As a Cost Accounting Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining and analyzing standard cost data for new and existing materials, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) posting. You will work cross-functionally within the site to evaluate daily costing requests, establish component, labor, and overhead costs, and manage accurate data in the ECA database.
Responsibilities
- Enter, develop, and maintain standard cost data, and verify component, labor, and overhead costs for inventory valuation and COGS posting.
- Perform BOM (Bill of Materials) analysis and verification as part of a thorough review of bills of materials and routings.
- Conduct annual reviews of bills of materials and routings, ensuring 100% accuracy, and enter them into the tracking system.
- Ensure all production orders are properly reconciled and posted in the correct period; investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Analyze and investigate manufacturing variance accounts, including Finished Goods Variance, Material Revaluation, and PPV, and provide detailed explanations.
- Support the annual standard cost roll for "make" and "buy" materials.
- Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance, maintaining internal control documentation and participating in control testing.
- Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, specifically in cost accounting.
- Proficiency with ERP software systems.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Advanced experience in ERP systems, with SAP preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
