Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading a mechanical engineering team in the redesign of Head Up Guidance Systems cast aluminium chassis components.
The Engineer will lead a team of mechanical engineers and associated support staff in the analysis and redesign of complex cast aluminium parts in a regulated avionics environment. The Engineer is responsible for technical leadership of less experienced mechanical engineers, peer review of engineering work, task assignment, and reporting of status on all associated tasks.

Responsibilities
- Mechanical Engineer position with emphasis on team technical leadership
- Advanced skills in GD&T – read and interpret prints per ASME Y14.5
- Experience working within the guidelines a quality management system
- Work with Project Engineer to coordinate assignments and activities.
- Technical review of sub tier supplier hardware in accordance with engineering requirements
- Assign, review, and approve engineering drawing updates.
- Present project status and team progress during leadership reviews
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Equivalent STEM degree will be considered if the candidate has applicable experience.
- 6 years of engineering design is required.
- Experience in an engineering lead position is required
- Advanced skill with mechanical drawing GD&T is required
- Experience with aluminium castings is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a quality-controlled environment is a desired
