Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for collecting and analyzing specimens while ensuring high standards in testing for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. You'll be key in verifying, recording, and reporting accurate lab results while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards.

Responsibilities :

Utilize extensive knowledge of human physiology and pathophysiology relevant to lab testing.

Adhere to specimen handling and processing protocols, maintaining thorough records of patient test results.

Conduct authorized tests based on established credentials and skills.

Perform laboratory tests, interpret results accordingly, and manage data within the Laboratory Information System.

Identify and address any issues affecting test performance or results reporting, escalating issues appropriately.

Document corrective actions for any discrepancies that arise during testing processes.

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (chemical, physical, biological sciences) with recent clinical lab experience.

OR a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology with clinical training.

National registration as an MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), or equivalent, or eligibility for certification at the time of hire.

Certification must be obtained within six months of hiring if not already held.

Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff, patients, and families.
