- Completes annual review of competencies to ensure proper knowledge of Plant Operations equipment and utilities.
- Completes annual review of Engineering department policy and procedure manual.
- Maintains full compliance with OSHA lock out / tag out, and utilizes PPE.
- Labels equipment out of service and informs staff of back up equipment in a timely manner.
- Properly operates and responds to use of On-call phone & two way radio in a timely manner.
- Completes work orders in the required time frame.
- Performs repairs and adjustments to equipment and utility systems.
- Ensures that all regularly scheduled PMs are completed in a timely manner.
- Consistently performs scheduled lubrication of all assigned equipment.
- Actively checks belt drives for wear alignment, tension, matched set replacements when needed on all assignedequipment.
- Monitors bearings for proper operation noting unusual noise, vibration, etc. on assigned equipment.
- Consistently performs scheduled PM on wheelchairs ensuring safe operation.
- Consistently performs scheduled checks / testing of fire alarm system, vacuum pumps, Medical Gas systems, and panicalarm systems including all documentation.
- Assists Operations Manager with Testing and Inspection procedures of the facility Fire Alarm Systems and FireSprinkler systems. Works with outside service contractors as required.
- Assists Operations Manager with required Fire Drills. Maintains records of Drills, service and repairs, Tests andoccurrences. As required.
- Maintains lighting systems using correct lamps / ballast for proper and energy efficient operation.
- Actively performs minor plumbing repairs to faucets, commodes, valves, drains and various equipment as requested.
- Competently repairs / adjust patient and non-patient care equipment as requested.
- Responsible for coordinating routine assignments and work order requests.
- Consistently performs patient room checks ensuring room readiness for admissions.
- Actively follows through on work order request for new equipment assembly, installation and adjustments.
- Actively assist in moving equipment / furniture taking care not to scratch or damage finishes.
- Responsible for assigning task to assistants and maintaining high productivity.
- Responsible for coordinating assignments to assistant mechanic, exhibiting good leadership skills in maintaining highlevel of productivity for PM Shop.
- Ensures high profile public area checks are performed daily.
- Assists with Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual inspections and testing documentation for JCAHO,State and local requirements as needed.
- Accepts other assigned duties as needed for departmental efficiency.
- Rotates “On Call” as required.Department Specific Criteria : 1. A high degree of mechanical aptitude2. Knowledge in use of various hand tools and electrical test equipment.3. Ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities4. High comfort level in use of step / extension ladders.5. Must have above average oral and written communication skills with priority focus in customer loyalty.6. - High school diploma or equivalent required
- A current Tennessee driver’s license required
- Successful completion of CPI training (parts 1 & 2) within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
- Vocational school training preferred.
- Five years minimum experience in commercial building / equipment maintenance environment required
- Minor electrical repair and testing required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Prior experience in hospital and JCAHO Standards documentation preferred.
- Knowledgeable in commercial plumbing, oxygen / vacuum medical gas system, Simplex fire alarm system and fire pumptesting preferred What qualifications you will need : Qualifications :
