Tristar Engineering & Management Inc. is a consulting firm celebrating over 20 years in business that performs construction oversight, inspection services and contract administration for municipal and public agencies throughout Arizona. We are a growing firm of about 65 employees, ranging from field technicians to professional engineers. Our work is primarily in the field on a construction site overseeing and documenting the work performed by contractors to build roads and bridges. Tristar is seeking a Chief Inspector for a 1 year construction project in GLOBE, AZ. Full perdiem/company truck and equipment provided.
CHIEF INSPECTOR
Under general supervision, this technical specialist provides technical analysis for a project and exercises considerable and significant independent judgment within established program parameters, policies and procedures. Possesses extensive knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering, as applied to the area of assignment, and may approve/disapprove work performed in the work unit, direct activities of consultants or subordinate staff, and perform lead or supervisory duties. Organizes and prioritizes work assignments.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Project management
Directing construction related activities performed by contractors or consultants
Supervising assigned subordinate personnel and taking disciplinary action as required
Use of complex mathematical computations and adjustment factors
Specification and technical writing
Work scheduling and management
Analysis and preparation of data
Advanced level work assignments within assigned area(s) of construction
Proper use, operation, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment
Effective verbal and written communication
Operating a variety of office equipment including a calculator
Use of computer programs applicable within the work unit (required assignment-specific programs are listed in the typical training and certification and minimum requirements sections below)
Organizing and prioritizing work assignments
Timely and accurate completion of work assignments
Maintaining adequate documentation of all assigned activities
Interpersonal relations and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Interpreting and implementing standards, policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to the area of assignment
Completing training in multiple areas of construction
Training and Certification
ATTI Field Certification CRT3400 (renewal required every five years)
ACI Field Certification CRT3410 (renewal required every five years)
ATSSA Traffic Control Technician TCH1168 (renewal required every four years)
ATSSA Supervisor TCH1167(renewal required every four years)
NICET Certification a plus.
ADOT Assignments (required in addition to all listed above):
