Job Summary And Qualifications
The Monitor Technician is responsible for rhythm interpretation. Assists with the clerical functions of the Unit. Fulfills departmental responsibilities according to the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of the hospital. Promotes a safe and supportive environment that encourages collegiality. Cares for Pediatrics (1 – 17 years) Adults (18 – 79 years) Elderly (80 years).

Job Summary And Qualifications
The Monitor Technician is responsible for rhythm interpretation. Assists with the clerical functions of the Unit. Fulfills departmental responsibilities according to the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of the hospital. Promotes a safe and supportive environment that encourages collegiality. Cares for Pediatrics (1 – 17 years) Adults (18 – 79 years) Elderly (80 years).
The position's tasks and responsibilities include:
- Interprets Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
- Reports all changes in heart rate/rhythm following the Telemetry Notification policy.
- Maintains telemetry supplies.
- Records patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Performs duties with full understanding of specific factors.
- Orients and mentors new staff members.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Provides a safe environment for patient, visitor and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards.
- Monitors SPOT (Sepsis Prevention and Optimization of Therapy) alerts
- BLS Healthcare Provider. New employees have up to 90 days from date of hire to obtain BLS for healthcare provider.
- Graduate of Medical Assistant Program preferred.
- Complete an Arrhythmia test with a passing score of 90% without missing any lethal arrhythmias
