The Cardiac Cath Lab Director provides overall administrative and clinical leadership to the assigned area(s). The Director is accountable and responsible for all departmental activities to ensure delivery of quality patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment This role will ensure effective administrative management of clinical functions related to personnel and policy in order to meet the mission of patient care, education and research within a fiscally responsible organization.
What you will do in this role:
Provide clinical leadership and financial and personnel management.
Supervise employees and participate in interviewing, selection, orientation, counseling and evaluation of staff.
Function within any process connected with the daily operational and business needs of the Cardiovascular Service business line including Cardiac Cath Lab, EP lab and interventional radiology.
Oversee and maintain TriStar Skyline’s Chest Pain Accreditation and oversee STEMI meetings and EMS feedback in regards to STEMI patients.
Provide and/or facilitate patient flow for department and serve as a resource to employees for clinical and managerial support.
Assume responsibility for direct patient care as necessary within training and scope of practice.
Demonstrate effective problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution and communication skills in the management of Cardiovascular Services departments.
Work collaboratively with staff, physicians and other departments to ensure safe, smooth and efficient patient care management as necessary.
Manage departments within the budgetary and productivity guidelines of the department.
Serve as a resource to patients, families, physicians and staff in facilitating medical and nursing care through the utilization of appropriate resources.
Mentor staff to increase clinical and critical thinking skills.
Support change and participates in the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the process improvement and quality management activities of the department.
Network with Cardiovascular Services of HCA Clinical Services Group and TriStar Division to maintain operational standards.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
Prior related clinical leadership strongly preferred.
TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 350 bed facility. We are Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. In addition, we are equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are a state-designated Level I Trauma Center. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, TriStar Skyline is a leading provider of emergency heart care.
