What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Registration Clerk position at TriState Health?
Job Summary:
The Radiology Registration Clerk is responsible for the coordination of an effective, efficient registration process for all Radiology and Respiratory Therapy patients by receiving referrals and orders, gathering and verifying pertinent information, and completing necessary procedures to pre-register and/or register outpatients. This position is responsible for ensuring appropriate authorization for services has been secured. Attention to detail is a must.
Education and Training:
Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or equivalent college coursework preferred; Medical terminology and previous healthcare experience preferred but not required; High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required.
Experience:
3 to 5 years customer service experience preferred; Experience with general office equipment; fax, telephone, copy machine and computer required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational stills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate face to face and via telephone with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes and ICD-10 codes.
- Ability to identify and solve problems independently.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to various programs/systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, provides high quality customer service.
