Job Summary:
The Market Safety Manager works within a specific geographical region with local management teams and with the National Safety Vice President in developing, coordinating, and implementing, occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization.
Responsibilities:
Monitors and maintains market employee and subcontractor certifications.
Performs site safety audits on in-house and subcontractor to ensure compliance with Local, State, Federal regulations along with industry-specific standards.
First line of defense to a region if an incident/injury occurs.
Conduct market safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
Responsive to activities that could harm employees or equipment, including standdowns, write ups, and training.
Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
Reviews and/or conducts safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates for employees and subcontractors.
Reviews or conducts accident and incident reports and JSA.
Reviews and maintains all market safety records such as JSAs.
Performs other related duties as assigned by upper management to assure safety and efficiencies in the company.
Inspects company equipment/gear.
Manages subcontractor’s required certifications.
Conducts risk assessment safety evaluations.
Responsible for maintaining TriStruX National Market’s Safety Programs.
Maintains in house employee certifications.
Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for our industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to conduct or attend training.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Knowledge of ANSI 10.48.
Knowledge of NWSA certifications.
Avetta experience preferred.
Education and Experience:
Telecommunications experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or extensive trainings with multiple certifications in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.
At least 5 years of industry project management work with at least 50% dedicated to onsite safety.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Able to stand and move for long periods while conducting training.
Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
Ability to navigate throughout a facility or job site as required to conduct safety inspections.
Ability to travel up to 25%
Salary: 85k-100k
