GENERAL:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex industrial construction projects. This role requires extensive experience in the industrial construction industry, with a specific focus on utilizing Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) software to develop comprehensive cost assessments. The ideal candidate will have 15-20 years of experience and a proven track record of successfully estimating all disciplines for large-scale industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimate Preparation:
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for industrial construction projects, including but not limited to, refineries, chemical plants, power plants, and manufacturing facilities.
- Utilize Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) to generate precise and competitive cost estimates.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope and appropriate pricing.
Data Analysis:
- Evaluate historical data, actual costs, and other relevant information to refine estimating processes and improve accuracy.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, labor rates, material costs, and other factors impacting project costs.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews to gain insights and ensure accuracy of estimates.
- Present and explain estimate details to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed estimate reports, including breakdowns of costs by category (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, etc.).
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, supporting documentation, and correspondence.
- Ensure proper WBS is utilized for budget preparation.
- Provide regular updates to management on estimate status and any potential issues or concerns.
OTHER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain standard reporting and foster standardization across all stages of estimates

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 15-20 years of experience in industrial construction estimating, with a strong focus on large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) software is mandatory.
Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of industrial construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) and other relevant software.
Certifications:
- Professional certification in estimating (e.g., AACE Certified Estimating Professional) is preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to project sites and client meetings.
- Full-time position with standard office hours, with potential for extended hours during project peak periods.
