Triton Aquatics is a thriving year-round aquatics club serving the Tri-Valley and Tri-County regions in the East Bay. Our mission is to foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment that helps athletes of all levels achieve their goals both in and out of the water. We offer a comprehensive aquatics program ranging from learn-to-swim lessons to advanced competitive swim and water polo training.
We are seeking a Part-Time Age Group Water Polo Coach to join our dynamic coaching staff and supportive aquatics community. The coach will work primarily with our youth development water polo teams, focusing on beginner and intermediate players, while assisting with higher-level groups as needed. This role is vital to building foundational skills, fostering teamwork, and preparing athletes for success in competition and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Novice and Developmental Water Polo groups.
- Assist with advanced Age Group water polo teams as assigned.
- Develop and implement practice plans that emphasize skill development, strategy, and game awareness.
- Provide a safe, engaging, and motivating environment for athletes.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and the broader coaching staff.
- Assist with team events, tournaments, and program management.
- Promote Triton Aquatics’ values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Position Details:
- Approximately 10-15 hours of on-deck coaching per week, plus 2-5 hours of administrative duties.
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time salaried role with benefits as the program expands.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience in water polo, with an emphasis on youth development preferred.
- Background as a competitive water polo player at the club, high school, or collegiate level.
- Current USA Water Polo coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Passion for coaching and mentoring athletes of all ages and abilities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of water polo techniques, strategies, and game preparation.
- Enthusiastic, hard-working, and team-oriented attitude.
Compensation:
Triton Aquatics offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $20 - $35/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
