ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
This position is primarily responsible for participating in all aspects of group reservations, Star Store gift shop operations, membership management, contributing to database and other recordkeeping, and supporting other Space Center operations.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle a wide range of phone calls and provide clear and comprehensive communication: describing public programs, schedules, and events; taking and arranging all aspects of group reservations; and working with other departments and vendors.
- Respond to and coordinate all aspects of group reservations: assist leaders with selecting the best program based on age, grade level, curriculum, and interest; arrange for payment, lunch accommodations, shopping in the store, campus tours, and other services including custodial and cashier’s office.
- Provide detailed information and updates/alerts as needed and collaborate with the director and educators when special circumstances arise.
- Perform written correspondence including form letters, email, confirmations, submitting purchase requisitions, signing invoices, and handling other documents as needed, sometimes in collaboration with the director or educators.
- Check in groups and public: operating cash register and credit card machine, completing paperwork, and filing documentation.
- Conduct sales in the gift shop to groups and public throughout the day as needed
- Close out the register as needed: count cash, settle the credit card machine, balance the drawer, and make copies of all documents to maintain Cernan records and for database entry.
- Input and maintain manual and computer records for ticket sales, invoices, gift shop, inventory, and memberships.
- Assist with preparation of monthly and annual reports of attendance, revenue, and program evaluations
- Conduct and maintain the membership program: update member data in a timely manner, assemble mailings to new and renewing members, prepare and mail renewal notices, make calls, issue invitation, collect RSVPs
- Maintain appearance of office and related supplies, store and merchandise, and the lobby/exhibit hall as needed.
- Supervise and assist in training hourly or student staff in filing, data entry, running errands on campus, and cashier procedures.
- Collaborate with Director on selecting, pricing, and purchasing materials and gift shop merchandise,
- Suggest and order gift shop merchandise as needed; then handle receipt, accounting, and pricing of merchandise
- Conduct Inventory of merchandise in store and in storage areas at least once a year
- Fulfill donation requests for organizations who ask for auction items for their fundraising efforts or passes for other purposes. Processing free passes or BOGO cards to be done in consultation with the Director.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
