HVAC FacultyRiver Grove, ILTriton College, a comprehensive two year institution located in a near western suburb of Chicago, is seeking a HVAC Faculty Instructor to join our team.Responsibilities : Instructs students in the facts, skills, and appreciations pertaining to the assigned courses.Considers the general and special needs of the students, assists them in meeting their problems, and when necessary, seeks additional help from other college services.Informs students of educational and occupational opportunities.Observes schedule as approved by the department chairperson and appropriate administrator.Cooperates with the department chairperson department members,and the appropriate administrators in the development of the curriculum, in the preparation and update of course syllabi, course outlines, and the selection of textbooks.Recommends library books and other instructional materials.Assists in the organization and meetings of advisory committees where applicable.Consults with department chairperson on matters pertaining to departmental problems; observes proper channels of communications.When needed, maintains an inventory of assigned equipment and supplies.Submits midterm and final grade reports, deficiency notices, attendance records, and any other reports pertaining to the assigned course. Faculty will cooperate with the department Chairperson and the department members to provide artifacts of student learning outcomes for the assessment of course, program and general education outcomes. When the faculty receives the aggregate data of assessment results back, they determine if and what curricular changes are needed.Participates in the formation of policies and regulations and assists in enforcing the regulations. Informs department chairperson in writing of any pending problem that might have a detrimental effect on the college.Participates in faculty and professional organizations.Attends scheduled monthly departmental / program meetings when there is no conflict with a professional responsibility.Distributes to all students each term a course outline which covers the class requirements, grading procedure, attendance requirements, and objectives the instructor feels are appropriate.Qualifications : Education : Associate’s degree in HVAC, Industrial Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferredLicensure / Certification : EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required; HVAC Excellence or similar industry certifications preferred; valid driver’s licenseExperience : Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, service, and troubleshooting; experience with both residential and commercial HVAC systems; prior teaching experience, preferably at the community college level, and knowledge of learning management systems.Benefits : Rate of pay commensurate with education and teaching experience;Official transcripts required prior to employment;Recommended candidate for hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings;Triton College is an EOEQuick link for Posting - https : / / jobopenings.triton.edu / postings / 1931
