About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team in the Transportation industry. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel trucks. Your primary goal will be to diagnose and repair any mechanical issues that arise, ensuring that our vehicles are always in top condition and ready for use. You will work closely with our team of drivers and logistics personnel to ensure that our vehicles are always available when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and braking systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE certification
- Experience working with a variety of diesel trucks and equipment
- Experience with welding and fabrication
Responsibilities:
- Performing routine maintenance on diesel trucks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, including problems with brakes, fuel systems, and hydraulics
- Replacing worn or damaged parts, including gaskets, alternators, and braking systems
- Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Working closely with drivers and logistics personnel to ensure that vehicles are always available when needed
Skills:
As a Mechanic, you will use your strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, and hydraulics to diagnose and repair mechanical issues. You will also use your problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of any issues and develop effective solutions. In addition, you will use your attention to detail to perform routine maintenance and keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed. Your ability to work closely with drivers and logistics personnel will be essential in ensuring that our vehicles are always available when needed. Finally, your experience with welding and fabrication will be beneficial in making repairs and modifications to our fleet of diesel trucks.
