Triton is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Track Coach to lead, teach, and inspire student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for organizing and conducting weekly practices, developing athletes’ skills, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. This role requires a strong understanding of track and field events, effective communication skills, and a commitment to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness among middle school students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct weekly track practice sessions, ensuring they are engaging, productive, and aligned with the developmental needs of middle school athletes.
Teach and develop athletes in a variety of track and field events, including sprints, distance running, long jump, shot put, and relays.
Monitor and assess athlete performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement for skill improvement.
Foster a positive and supportive team environment, promoting inclusion, respect, and cooperation among all athletes.
Organize and prepare athletes for track meets, ensuring they are equipped with necessary gear, skills and are mentally prepared for competition.
Supervise athletes during meets and practices, ensuring safety and adherence to all school and league rules.
Communicate regularly with athletes and parents regarding practice schedules, meet information, and athlete progress.
Collaborate with other coaching staff and school administrators to ensure the overall success of the track program.
Enforce sportsmanship, discipline, and positive attitudes both on and off the track.
Assist with the coordination of team events, including team bonding activities and end-of-season celebrations.
