We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our team and play a key role in bidding and securing large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including roadwork, utilities, concrete structures, and excavation.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and pricing.
- Develop quantity take-offs and pricing models for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and precise bids.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures during the bidding process.
- Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and assess qualifications.
- Lead the bid preparation process and participate in client and stakeholder presentations.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience as an estimator in heavy civil construction.
- Expertise in roadway reconstruction, underground utilities (water/sewer), excavation, and site development.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Deep understanding of NYCDDC, NYCDOT, NYCDEP, and other municipal projects in New York City.
- Ability to analyze project risks and develop cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, labor productivity, and material costs.
