Construction Field Safety Coordinator

Triumph Construction is a premier construction company based in Bronx, New York. We work with a wide range of public and private clients, including the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and Con Edison. Our projects include sewer, drainage, water main, utilities, stormwater infrastructure, roadway reconstruction, bridge rehabilitation, excavation, and various heavy civil construction initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily job site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans.
• Document audit findings and upload relevant photos into Triumph’s safety platform via iPad.
• Identify existing and potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with NYC agencies such as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and provide on-the-job training (OJT) as needed.
• Investigate accidents, prepare required reports, and assist the Safety Director in determining root causes.
• Develop and deliver required training to prevent future incidents.
• Hold specialty safety training sessions as required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction field safety, preferably in heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Education: College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Industry Knowledge: Must have experience with NYCMTA and a strong understanding of sewer, drainage, water main, utilities, stormwater infrastructure, roadway reconstruction, and excavation projects.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• License: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Required Certifications:

• CHST (or equivalent construction safety certification by exam)
• OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer
• 40-hour HAZWOPER/8-hour refresher certification
• First Aid/CPR certified
• Flagger Instructor (NSC or ATSSA)
• NYCFD COF-F60 Fire Guard for Torch Operation
• 62-hour SST Supervisor
• NYCT Right of Way (“ROW”) Certification
• Track Safety Training for NYCT
• DOT Hazardous Waste Material Certification
• NYC DOB 32-HR Supported Scaffold User

Preferred Certifications (a plus but not required):

• EM 385-1-1 Training (U.S. Army Corps)
