About the Job :
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Software Engineering Manager to join our West Hartford, CT team. The Software Engineering Manager would be working in a team environment engaging in full life-cycle development (plan, design, verify, certify) of embedded software for complex control systems certified to RTCA DO-178 (design assurance level A to E) standards. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with software engineers, systems integration, electronics engineers, project management and test engineers. Applicants must have good communication and coordination skills.
Responsibilities
- Key focal point for both internal and external customers
- Organizing and directing the activities of the software engineering group ensuring that programs are properly staffed with the right personnel
- Design, develop, document, test and debug control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Technical excellence in product development and delivery
- Supervising multiple direct reports and mentoring engineers within the group develop their knowledge / skills and achieve their career goals
- Preparing bids and proposals for new business opportunities
- Project planning and oversight and the ability to effectively multi-task
- Leading continuous improvement efforts to reduce product development cycle time and build upon existing processes and evolve them to utilize the most effective new techniques
