As a Physical Therapy Manager at Georgia Bone and Joint Surgeons, this position performs a variety
of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service.
The employee must work collaboratively with all staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting.
flexibility and a “can-do” attitude. Patient care is the key priority in this position requiring the
physical therapist to manage clinic operations to ensure provision of quality patient care, promotion of
good human resource management, optimal customer service and the achievement of financial goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, organizes, and directs the department activities for the treatment of patients.
- Administers treatment program per physician instructions. Clarifies physician’s treatment instructions. Confers with physicians and medical staff on patient care issues.
- Manages the daily evaluation and treatment activities of staff. Discusses condition and treatment plans with therapists and physicians. Recommends changes.
- Establishes and develops policies and procedures concerning services provided.
- Establishes priorities for providing services to patients based on patient’s condition.
- Resolves problems by assisting therapists experiencing patient care problems.
- Selects and trains/orients assigned personnel. Assigns work and supervise daily operations.
- Reviews department performance. Develops and maintains a program of quality assurance related to patient care matters. Recommends changes in work methods.
- Collects data and prepares reports. Maintains patient statistics, services provided and referrals.
- Develops and recommends department operating budget along with Director. Ensures department operates within budget.
- Provides guidance and instruction to subordinate therapists, educating them on appropriate therapeutic modalities. Introduces and demonstrates new techniques.
- Evaluations performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Determines equipment needs, evaluates equipment for purchase, initiates equipment orders, and implements equipment maintenance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy – minimum.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
- Georgia state license required.
- CPR certification.
Experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service oriented.
- Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding procedures.
- Attentive to detail.
- Ability to follow up to assure customer is satisfied.
- Maintain current certifications.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
- Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
- Requires ability to facilitate prescribed treatment, including full manipulation and resistance.
- Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Sitting/Standing: Extended periods of sitting and/or standing in an open office environment
- Handling: Normal office activity including, keyboarding, interacting with others, participating in meetings, extended periods of sitting and/or standing in an open office environment, use of headset or telephone for extended periods of time.
- Repetitive motion: Frequent and regular use of the wrists, hands, and fingers to make small movements such as typing or picking up small objects. Normal fine and gross motor control of fingers and hands.
