We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital or physician billing and denial management. This role involves handling insurance claims, processing payments, and resolving billing issues to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Ensuring Safety Excellence : In compliance with Washington State's ESSB 5123, we prioritize safety in our workforce by conducting controlled substance testing, including marijuana, for this position, which is deemed safety-sensitive.”

Position Summary :

The Insurance Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely submission of insurance claims, processing payments, and resolving billing issues to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.

  • RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Manage and process insurance claims. Communicate with insurance companies to follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims.
  • Manages correspondence relating to assigned accounts in a timely manner.
  • Post various types of incoming payments via 838, cash, check or credit card.
  • Review and resolve billing denials and discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on insurance regulations and billing practices.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits. Assist with authorizations as required.
  • Provides positive and efficient customer service to all parties, follows-up on requests promptly. Works collaboratively with admissions department.
  • Monitors trends, identifies areas of opportunity to increase revenue and system efficiencies.
  • Generate and send monthly billing statements to clients. Secures acceptable payment arrangements and refers accounts to collection if required. Manages financial assistance program.
  • Performs other related work and support activities as needed.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    Education :

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 2 years in a hospital or physician billing environment.
  • Licenses / Certificates / Registration :

    Valid drivers license and vehicle insurance required. 5 years of licensed driving experience required.
