    Position Summary :

    The Lead Mental Health Counselor is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services, including assessments, individual, and group therapy for clients in our programs. They provide training and support to practicum and intern students. They help establish medical necessities and diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and support patients in setting and achieving their goals.

    • RESPONSIBLITIES

    • Conduct assessments and deliver therapeutic counseling services to individuals, families, and groups within the mental health and related programs as assigned.
    • Provide case management services based on individual client needs.
    • Develop and review individual service plans (ISPs) in compliance with current WAC standards.
    • Ensure quality assurance processes for consumer services meet local, regional, state, and federal regulations.
    • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community resources to support and enhance the functioning of individuals with mental illness.
    • Initiate discharge and community placement plans for clients completing treatment.
    • Keep client records up to date and in compliance with agency standards, state, federal, and contract requirements.
    • Offer community consultation and educational services as directed by a supervisor.
    • Be knowledgeable of legal responsibilities related to emergency management, such as CPS involvement and mandatory reporting to law enforcement.
    • Participate in psychiatric and psychological consultations as requested by a supervisor.
    • Uphold confidentiality of clients and staff.
    • Complete required training and continuing education as specified by contract and DSHS requirements.
    • LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide training and ongoing support on Carelogic procedures for new associates, covering scheduling, notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
    • Offer consultation and coaching on diagnoses and presenting concerns.
    • Communicate regularly with the supervisor regarding program operations, progress, and any concerns about associate counselors.
    • Maintain effective communication with the team by conducting regular check-ins and follow-ups with team members.
    • Address team questions and offer support when needed.
    • Develop presentations that can be used for group sessions.
    • Encourage team growth and development.
    • Foster an approachable and supportive work environment.
    • Assist with drafting letters to providers or attorneys when required.
    • Engage in outreach, networking, and presentations as needed.

      QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

      Education :

    • Master's degree in counseling, Family Therapy, or Social Work.
    • Experience :

    • 2 years' experience in counseling
    • Knowledgeable in alcoholism, drug addiction, and ASAM criteria.
    • Knowledgeable in long-term rehabilitative processes, including awareness of the need for medical care, post-treatment crisis, relapse, and new problems arising from, sobriety, etc.
    • Licenses / Certificates / Registration :

    • Must possess the Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC / LMFT / LICSW / LMSW) credential or equivalent,
    • Must have a professional license and registration number from the State Department of Health

    • Ability to plan, organize, and carry out assignments from management staff with minimal direction.

    • Ability to organize and prioritize job duties effectively and timely, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.

    • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, and communicate orally.

    • Physical requirements for this position include hearing, seeing, smelling, speaking, feeling, reaching, pinching, and repetitive motions.
    • This position requires standing, walking, and bending for long periods.

    • This position may require exerting up to 40 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
