Role: Power BI/Reporting Developer
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 3 to 6 Months (20 to 40 hour/week)
Overview: The Power BI/Reporting Developer is responsible for designing and developing interactive and insightful Power BI reports and dashboards. These reports and dashboards will assist with data driven decision making across the different departments of the manufacturing organization. The Power BI Developer will work closely with the Software Engineering team, as well as business stakeholders and IT to understand the needs and translate business requirements into meaningful visualizations.
Essential Functions:
· Migration of existing legacy reporting infrastructure into Power BI.
· Develop, test, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements.
· Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives, for new and existing reports.
· Optimize Power BI data models and report performance for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
· Update existing Power BI reports as needed.
· Update existing SSRS reports as needed on a temporary basis.
· Provide training and support to users on Power BI tools and best practices.
· Any other tasks assigned by supervisors or management.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Proven experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, examples would be great.
· Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
· Proficiency with SQL and experience with data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.
· Experience with multiple different data sources: SQL Server, flat files, excel, or other databases.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Some travel will be required if remote.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
· Overall knowledge and experience with other BI tools or programming languages (Python, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field is a plus.
· Experience with Power BI in Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
Certifications: None required, but any Cloud certifications in Azure would be a plus.

Experience:
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in Power BI/Reporting development, at least 5 of those years with Power BI and SQL.
- Someone who was done migration from SSRS reports to Power BI
- There are about 2000 SSRS reports to migrate
- 30 reports to create new in Power BI
- Business Analyst experience will be required
- Proven experience in designing and implementing Power BI in an Azure environment.
- Hands-on experience with data technologies like SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, ADF, Fabric, SSIS, etc.
