As a fire life safety Testing Technician at TRL Systems, you'll check that fire alarms and sprinklers work correctly, helping to prevent tragedies and provide safety. It's a job where your technical skills make a real difference.

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all California locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
Essential Functions:
- Perform the testing and cleaning of all types of fire life safety devices, such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, fire doors, and much more.
- Monitor the fire panel, label devices, and do the testing set up and break down.
- Accurately communicates device testing status, device name changes, location changes to ensure accurate testing documentation.
- Monitors and updates tickets assigned to them in company CRM.
- Read and interpret previous testing documentation taking into consideration any special accommodations or notations recorded on that test.
- Displays an understanding of and the functionality of the Fire Life Safety systems installed.
- Operates and understand the use of all tools and equipment needed for the test.
- 1 years’ experience in low voltage systems
- 1 years’ experience in fire life safety testing
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
- Ability to drive for 2 hours in a work shift/day, daily.
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
- Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, high rise/midrise buildings, and/or hospitals with patient contact. Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
- Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20 pounds, daily
- Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
- Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally.
