FMI, a subsidiary of Desa, rolled up Design Dynamics in vented and vent-free logs in the early 2003 timeframe. Subsequently, the management team from the FMI segment of Desa acquired the assets of their division in 2008. Job Description :
The Power Machine Operator is responsible for the safe utilization of staffing, equipment, and materials within the assigned area of responsibility. Our company is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Power Machine Operator to carry out various tasks in our busy warehouse. The ideal candidate will have some mechanical and construction experience, excellent communication skills and a high degree of mechanical aptitude. The successful applicant will be responsible for operating production line equipment, finishing products and reporting any issues with equipment directly to supervisors. All qualified, responsible applicants are encouraged to apply. We offer a competitive salary and generous paid time off. Employees will be required to set up and run parts as needed. Running the parts requires lifting and moving of parts manually. When running parts, the employees are regularly required to stand. The employee will be required to handle parts weighing 1 pound to 36 pounds. Pushing and pulling of 3' X 3' bins requires 10 pounds of force to push and 15 lb of force to pull. Employee must have the ability to exert 55 lb of force to push and pull a full supply rack. Ability to handle parts from waist level frequently and from lower levels (occasionally). Kneeling is necessary when removing scrap from the back of the punch press machines. Ability to lift / move tubs of parts weighing up to 40 pounds from floor to waist. Roll tables with parts to workstation that weigh approximately 250-300 pounds. The Power Machine Operator behavior supports IHP values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Monitor the production process.
- Carry out basic quality and testing checks.
- Store goods and raw materials properly in our warehouse.
- Maintain work areas and equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and set up dies / machinery to prescribed tolerances Responsible for quantity and quality of parts produced.
- Direct machine helpers and assist as needed.
Qualifications :
Language Ability :
Position requires fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
