The Company
TRM Innovative Hearth Products is the buyout of several companies that have been merged throughout the years including but not limited to Fireplace Manufacturers Inc., (FMI), and Lennox Industries Hearth Division. The aggregate company included rollups of Marco; Superior Fireplace, which began in the 1930s; stove and insert companies including Country Stoves, established in 1977. FMI, a subsidiary of Desa, rolled up Design Dynamics in vented and vent-free logs in the early 2003 timeframe. Subsequently, the management team from the FMI segment of Desa acquired the assets of their division in 2008. On January of 2023 TRM Equity groups completely purchased IHP and created TRM Innovative Hearth Products.

Job Description:
The Team Leader is responsible for the safe utilization of staffing, equipment, and materials within the assigned area of responsibility. The Team Leader communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Motivates team members and assesses performance. Provides help to management, including training, and keeps management updated on team performance. Communicates concerns and policies among management and team members. The position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and interfaces frequently with all other departments including Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Human Resources. The RV Team Leader behavior that supports IHP values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a sense of ownership & urgency to ensure on time customer deliveries within Safety, Quality and Cost standards.
- Insures all work assignments be carried out in a safe manner. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Drives efficiency and productivity improvements by eliminating wastes.
- Deploy/sustain Lean methodologies to ensure compliance to Takt time and establish standard work wherever possible.
- Utilizes data driven problem solving tools and drives root cause analyses to solve safety and production challenges.
- Maintain positive employee relations.
- Assigns work and insures proper training of employees.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Keep Production Supervisor aware of any problem areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Associate's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Manufacturing Leadership
Language Ability:
Position requires fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
