The Tanker & HazMat Endorsement Driver - Class A CDL safely transports and delivers Jet A fuel by diesel-powered tractor/trailer combination to customer locations with below or above-ground tanks. When not driving, you will be expected to assist with housekeeping responsibilities at home base to include general maintenance of equipment and vehicles and any other duties as may be necessary. This is based at Ross County Airport in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection of fuel delivery equipment before, during, and after operation inspection of tractor/trailer combination and report/correct any functionality issues discovered
- Conduct minor repairs of worn fuel delivery equipment at respective fuel sites
- Ensure all unit and product documents are present and comply with current DOT and HAZMAT regulations
- Safely operate a fuel delivery tractor/trailer combination and the unit pump system to deliver fuel products into above-ground tanks
- Adhere to fuel loading terminal operating instructions and emergency procedures along with the company procedures for loading and unloading
- Safely operate a tractor/trailer combination complying with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations in an urban and rural environment and in all weather conditions
- Determine before and after delivery tank measurements checking for water and other contamination
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance, especially when making deliveries to customers
- Must interact with pilot/helicopter crews and perform on site testing of fuel to satisfaction of pilot/crew to gain signature for receipt of fuel.
- Assist with annual inspections/filter changes at respective heliports
- Operate the On-Board computer system effectively to maintain driver logs and trip information and prepare customer bills of lading (BOL)
- Accurately provide assessorial information onto BOL
- Provide DOT with required information during inspections and stops
Requirements
- CDL A with Tanker AND HazMat endorsements required
- May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Experience in the petroleum industry is preferred
- 1-year driving experience preferred
- Satisfactory completion of DOT physical and drug screen required
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person or in writing required
- Tractor/trailer driving experience preferred
