What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Trodat Trotec Group?
WE HAVE AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY WITHIN TRODAT FOR A FORKLIFT/MATERIAL HANDLER IN OUR SOMERSET, NJ FACILITY. You will work in a clean environment where employees are treated as a priority. We offer an excellent benefits and paid time off package. THIS WILL BE A UNION POSITION.
The Forklift Driver/Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and moving goods around warehouse. Duties include using forklifts to load/unload deliveries, putting away product into high rack inventory bin locations, dropping products from high racks and filling product picking locations, and moving products/wooden pallets around the warehouse.
Forklift/Material Handler Operator Duties include but are not limited to:
Retrieve and put away materials using a Stand-Up/High-Lo Reach Forklift.
- Use a mobile RF Scanning device.
- Drive sit down forklift to load and unload trucks.
- Wrap pallets for carrier collection
- Assist picker/packer teams with heavy boxes and stacking/preparing skids for customer orders.
- Work with the Shipping Supervisor for daily priorities
Requirements and skills include but are not limited to:
Experience in Picking / Packing operations with a high variety of SKU’s, along with general warehousing experience.
- Forklift certification (sit down – not required but preferred)
- Basic math/counting skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Good, clear visual ability.
- Ability to lift 30-70 pounds, and be on their feet for most of the day.
- Computer skills and experience using scanning equipment a plus.
- Must be proficient in English and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and integrity to report mistakes.
- Any other various tasks they are asked to perform by Managers or Supervisors
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday
Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
(Overtime is required as needed, including Saturday shifts)
