We have an exciting opportunity at Trotec Laser in Plymouth Michigan - this is an on site role. We are looking for someone with a technical aptitude with 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment.
SUMMARY : As a Production Associate, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing and validation of commercial laser systems. You will be responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting components and systems to ensure they meet strict quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the desire to grow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (Other duties may be assigned)
Assemble systems in a manner that meets requirements and quality standards.
Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment, including alignment and calibration instruments.
Conduct functional testing of laser systems to verify performance against specifications.
Seek out and document quality concerns during inspection of finished products.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe production environment.
Inspect incoming equipment and parts for accuracy.
Test incoming machines for functionality.
Work with warehouse team to package outgoing systems for shipment.
Collaborate with other departments to address production challenges or improve processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues during assembly or testing.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical assembly processes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
Deductive reasoning to troubleshoot issues that may arise.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines and document activities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Previous Salesforce experience a plus.
Microsoft Office proficiency.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or technical certification in a related field.
2-3 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment (experience with optical, laser systems or high tech electronics preferred)
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, inquiries or complaints from top management, co-workers and / or vendors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Must possess advanced mathematical and analytical skills.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY :
Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various problems, and prioritize work.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
