Position Overview The Buyer/Planner reports to the Director of Materials and handles the procurement and planning initiatives for various Production and Non-Production materials. Area of Focus Buyer/Planner utilizes MRP Systems and monitors product backlog and performing stringent supply and demand analysis daily. Buyer/Planner effectively plans and schedules materials to meet the timely execution of the various production material requirements while maximizing value through negotiating with key suppliers. Buyer/Planner effectively plans and schedules materials to meet the timely execution of the various production material requirements while maximizing value through negotiating with key suppliers. Responsibilities
- Rationalizing supply bases and associated spend on raw materials (Production and Non- Production)
- Standardizing material, products and services across all TBC divisions
- Negotiating corporate agreements
- Promoting/enforcing contract compliance and managing corporate contracts though centralized database
- Establishing metrics and tracking supplier performance
- Review demand forecasts and schedule/release orders as needed
- Work with MRB board to manage excess and obsolete inventories
- Create, execute and document cost savings initiatives
- Collaborating with suppliers on processes and product improvements that lead to systemic cost reduction in the supply chain
- Respond in a timely manner to MRP action messages generated by ERP system
- Release and schedule production orders
- Work closely with TBC Demand Planning, Customer Service Department, and Manufacturing Departments to manage dynamic environment in order to maximize on- on-time delivery performance metrics while minimizing inventory in all its forms
- Aggressively analyze and manage Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) safety stock, lead-time, economic order quantity and other key planning parameters for manufactured detail components, sub-assembly components, raw materials and finished goods items
- Work with Material Review Board (MRB), Corporate Supply Chain personnel and other TBC divisions to minimize and manage obsolete and excess inventory and resolve any related quality and engineering issues
- In conjunction with TBC Quality and Supplier Development function, assist in facilitating accurate and timeliness of data and reporting of key performance indicators (KPI) as related supplier performance and TBC Supplier Scorecard
- Work to optimize processes and systems related to production planning and related analytics Basic Qualifications
- Associated Degree in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 7 years related experience
- Purchasing and Inventory Control experience
- Experience with ERP systems is required, with strong MRP II proficiency
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office Applications, superior Excel skills
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers
- Excellent negotiation skill Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- APICS, CPM Certification
- Bilingual in Spanish
- CPIM (APICS Certification), Six Sigma
- Plex ERP system
