Position Overview
Finishing Operator fills batteries with acid to the proper level, and correctly apply caps on the batteries according to battery type. Formation Operator will perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects.

The Finishing Operator will be committed to performing the role safely and can wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a respirator.

Responsibilities
Level III
- Can perform all assigned duties of Level I and II
- Can set up and perform each function in all areas
- Routinely performs set up and operate all equipment in the department (for example, HRD, wrapping machine, battery washer, battery dumper, automatic acid filler, date coder, air tester, etc.)
- Perform PM, adjust and troubleshoot equipment
- Inspect battery for other defects
- Read meters and calculate averages during voltage testing for different types of batteries
- Read and record voltmeter and hydrometer during disposition testing
- Identify cause of any rejects during testing and forward to QA
- Proficient knowledge of all product parts, processes (i.e., part numbers, labeling, caps), and all product regulations and requirements
- Perform visual inspections for quality and quantity. Take a highly active role in maintaining product quality. Identify problems, seek causes and effects and perform minor to complex adjustments to line functions to correct. Notify Team Lead of only most complex problems
- Confirm all work orders match production and that all documentation for department is properly logged
- Prepare daily production reports
- Read Bill of Materials and Visual Reference Guide to determine proper orientation of batteries
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or greater
- 2-3 years’ manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work history
- Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be clean shaven
