BallenIsles Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Full Time Assistant Racquets Shop Manager. Qualified candidates must have knowledge of Tennis/Pickleball and related verbiage.
General Purpose:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Racquets Pro Shop. Ensures customer satisfaction and provides guidance to shop attendants.
Essential Duties:
• Observes sales flow and recommends adjustments in order to adhere to cost control and quality procedures.
• Answers customer questions and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensures policies and procedures for the Pro Shop, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services are followed.
• Ensures store items are adequately stocked, orders items as needed. Conducts monthly inventory.
• Ensures proper receiving, storage, and stocking of inventory.
• Inspects facility to identify any maintenance, repair, or clean up needs. Reports any maintenance needs to the Director of Tennis.
• Assists the Racquets Shop Manager in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Make recommendations when hiring, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Coordinates schedules for all shop attendants.
• Maintains accurate records of purchase orders.
• Monitors inventory dates and adjust pricing as per company policy.
• Keeps accurate invoice records to maximize early payment discounts.
• Keeps accurate vendor contact information, to ensure easy purchase orders and especially special order.
• Attends Tennis/Fitness shows with Racquet Shop Manager as needed to view different lines and to remain competitive within the local market with store product mix.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands. Regularly climbs or balances. Frequently stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; talks or hears; tastes or smells; lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather). Noise level is moderate
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency including but not limited to Jonas POS, Microsoft Office applications, social media and other programs related to tennis such as tennisdirector.com
Pay: $21-$22/hr
Salary : $21 - $22
