What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Technician position at Troon?
Troon North is looking for a Full-Time person with a handyman type skill set for facility maintenance. Job will include but will not be limited to, minor repairs, electrical, plumbing, painting, event set up and pressure washing. Provides daily repair and maintenance services for all aspects of the operation, including facilities, grounds and other areas as required.
Essential Duties:
- Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building electrical systems, such as bulbs, fixtures, switches, photocells, and outlets.
- Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; performs standard repair/replacement of components, as appropriate, and maintenance tasks such as cleaning cooling fan coil units, changing filters and adjusting system controls.
- Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, including standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines and performing repairs to plumbing and water supply systems.
- Performs carpentry maintenance tasks, including standard sheetrock/drywall installation and repair, painting and texturing, and door hardware installation, paints interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.
- Perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks.
- Ensures proper care in using and maintaining equipment, supplies and tools; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety.
- Completes banquet set up in ballroom and on course for all events.
- Documents facilities maintenance requirements. Maintains appropriate records of work performed in work order system.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; at least one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed certificate from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands, walks and sits; regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks and hears; occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, pushes, and pulls; regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise: Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions; occasionally works in wet or humid (non-weather) conditions; occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles; toxic, or caustic chemicals. The noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Driver’s License may be required. Other applicable mechanical/equipment licenses (Boiler, HVAC etc).
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). Position Requires: a) Performing a wide range of general maintenance; b) Monitoring the performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems; c) Repairing electrical fixtures, switches, and outlets; d) Repairing leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed lines and painting.
