The Food and Beverage Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Food and Beverage by overseeing the daily operations and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests. This position requires a hands-on leader who can inspire and manage a dynamic team, maintain the highest standards of service, and contribute to the strategic development of the club's Food and Beverage program.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Assist the Director of Food and Beverage in the daily management of all Food and Beverage outlets, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Oversee staff scheduling, training, and development to ensure the team is well-equipped to deliver exceptional service.
- Monitor service standards and ensure consistency across all dining venues, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and special events.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the Food and Beverage team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to enhance staff performance and career growth.
- Support recruitment efforts by identifying and hiring top talent to strengthen the Food and Beverage team.
Member and Guest Experience:
- Ensure that all members and guests receive a warm and welcoming experience, addressing any concerns or special requests with professionalism and promptness.
- Collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage to develop and implement new service initiatives and programs aimed at enhancing member satisfaction.
- Actively engage with members and guests, gathering feedback to continuously improve the dining experience.
Financial Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the Food and Beverage budget, focusing on cost control, revenue generation, and profitability.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including food and beverage costs, labor expenses, and other key metrics, to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to optimize menu offerings and pricing strategies that align with member preferences and financial goals.
Event Coordination:
- Work closely with the events team to ensure the successful execution of club events, banquets, and private functions, from planning to execution.
- Oversee the coordination of food and beverage service for events, ensuring all details are meticulously managed and members’ expectations are exceeded.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards across all food and beverage outlets.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the club is meeting or exceeding all regulatory requirements and maintaining a safe environment for staff and guests.
- Develop and implement staff training programs on food safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures.
Strategic Contribution:
- Support the Director of Food and Beverage in the development and execution of long-term strategic plans for the department.
- Participate in regular meetings with club management to discuss goals, initiatives, and opportunities for growth within the Food and Beverage program.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to ensure the club remains at the forefront of Food and Beverage excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Food and Beverage management, preferably within a private club or upscale hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on member and guest satisfaction.
- Proven ability to manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and other relevant technology.
