Position Overview:
The Lead Cosmetologist is responsible for delivering a wide range of spa services within their scope of practice, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Services include manicures, pedicures, waxing, and facial treatments. This role also involves training new team members, maintaining high service standards, and assisting with spa operations.
Compensation: Starting at $17.00/hour 20% service charge tips retail & service commissions

Qualifications:
- Current professional licensure as required by the State of Colorado
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing licensed Cosmetologist
- Previous experience in a resort or hotel spa highly preferred
- Previous experience with leading and developing a team of staff required.
- Dermaplaning certification required
- Previous Resort/Hotel Spa experience highly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of Cosmetology services, credential requirements and industry best practices
Essential Responsibilities:
- Consistently lead by example and is a role model each shift.
- Demonstrate a guest-driven style of leadership with a sense of urgency in interactions, execution and recovery.
- Promotes a positive image of the Spa to fellow team members and to all guests.
- Function as a direct report for all cosmetology/esthetics/nail technicians on staff.
- Assist management in scheduling, mentoring and motivating the massage team.
- Training of the cosmetology/esthetics/nail technicians in relevant treatments, and evaluation of treatment quality. Includes assisting Spa Manager with interviewing and training of new hires. Includes assisting Spa Manager with creating and implementing treatment protocols and standards.
- Assist Spa Manager with inventorying and ordering cosmetology supplies related to all services offered, maintain par stocks and ensure proper product usage in all treatments are aligned with service protocols.
- Crosstrain to perform all services in nail care, hand/foot treatments, facial/skin care and body treatment services in accordance with licensure scope of practice
- Prepare treatment areas and supplies and complete all tasks necessary for opening and closing shifts.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all treatment rooms and supplies.
- Attend all departmental staff meetings and assist in delivering agenda items relevant to service areas.
- Attend mandatory product knowledge and on-site vendor trainings.
- On-time attendance and ability to maintain fluctuating schedule demands. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with departmental standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the operation.
- Knowledge of all spa products and treatments.
- Meet Retail sales expectations/goals put forth by Spa Manager.
- Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor operational needs and make recommendations accordingly.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct spa tours for guests.
- Assist the Spa Front Desk team as needed with guest check-ins and escorting.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance the guest experience.
- Act as an ambassador for the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and Country Club of Colorado.
