What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Lifeguard position at Troon?
Marin Country Club is seeking an experienced Lead Lifeguard to oversee the daily operations of our lifeguard team and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for all guests. The Lead Lifeguard will be responsible for staff supervision, training, scheduling, and enforcing water safety protocols in compliance with American Red Cross standards. This role requires active lifeguarding duties as well.
Duties may include, but are not limited to: Supervising a small staff of seasonal Lifeguards; providing ongoing training to staff; scheduling work days and hours; assigning tasks and duties to staff; assisting in evaluating Lifeguard staff and making recommendations regarding performance evaluations to the Recreation Manager; ensuring that the proper level of first aid supplies are available on site; enforcing pool rules and regulations; providing information to the public; performing routine maintenance duties to keep the pool and facility in clean and safe condition; collecting admission fees; responding to emergency situations in the pool; performing tests to ensure safe pool water quality; maintaining routine records and performing other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of experience working as a Lifeguard in a public recreation setting.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard supervisor or manager (Preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Required to work as a lifeguard
- Physical ability to perform water rescues and lift up to 50 lbs
Certificates and Licenses
Possession of, or ability to obtain the following certifications prior to assignment of life-saving duties.
- Lifeguarding certificate issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent certified issuing agency.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS/CPR) issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent certified agency.
- First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent certified agency.
Pay: $23-$25/hr
