As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking various dishes according to recipes and guidelines provided by the management team. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the culinary experience of our guests through your attention to detail and passion for food and respect of the ingredients.

Reports to: Director Culinary Operations; Executive Chef; Sous Chef
Summary:
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking various dishes according to recipes and guidelines provided by the management team. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the culinary experience of our guests through your attention to detail and passion for food and respect of the ingredients.
Pay Range: $20-$22 / hour
Essential Duties:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, with a focus on portion control.
- Follows recipes accurately to maintain consistent quality and presentation of dishes.
- Utilizes whole food products eliminating any waste; maintains a completely prepped station for service; ensuring station is prepped for the next shift.
- Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas.
- Alerts chef or supervisor of any equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner.
- Requisitions inventory and receive supplies as necessary for daily production.
- Ensures proper storage of food items, wraps, dates and rotates food items.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a line cook; ideally in a high-volume restaurant environment.

Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Attention to detail and passion for creating culinary delights.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, listens, tastes and smells.
- Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
- Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds (team lift).
Certificates/Licenses:
- Food Safety and Sanitation Training.
Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English.)
