The Spa Supervisor is responsible for supervising all Spa personnel and daily operations to ensure the highest standards of service according to property and departmental policies and procedures. They assist the Director/Manager with retail and operational supply orders, inventory, meetings, marketing and treatment menu development, delegating tasks to staff, performing staff inspections, and implementing strategies to increase daily revenue. They are required to make decisions in a leadership position in the absence of the Director/Manager to ensure successful operations.

- Oversee daily departmental operations in the absence of Director/Manager.
- Consistently lead by example and is a role model each and every shift.
- Function as a direct report supervisor for all Spa staff.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating all Spa employees in performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance, conduct. Communicate information to Director/Manager for disciplinary actions for employees. Assist Director/Manager with disciplinary actions as assigned.
- Must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Oversee efficiency of Spa operations at the front desk and proper scheduling of appointments and staff.
- Communicate and coordinate any groups and special guest requests with the front desk and service providers.
- Review/revise scheduling of desk and service provider teams on a daily basis according to business demands.
- Coordinate scheduling and guest recovery as needed with any service provider call-out situation.
- Assist Director/Manager with interviewing, hiring and training of spa employees.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- Assist with leading departmental meetings, daily stand up or any other communication meetings in coordination with the Director/Manager.
- Assist with coordinating training schedules and agendas to ensure staff are on task as assigned.
- Be thoroughly familiar with and provide instruction on Spa software.
- Handle all administrative functions of the Spa including: using Spa software, maintaining inventory of supplies, making appointments, handling POS and guest interactions and answering staff questions.
- Remain knowledgeable of current industry trends, assisting with developing new programs and making improvements. Recommendations are sent to Director/Manger.
- Must be the initial and complete source of information regarding what is available at the Spa and all treatment procedures to ensure guest comfort (i.e. treatment protocols and products, equipment and retail items).
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Address any problems experienced in the spa with awareness, sincere concern, apologies and offers an appropriate remedy and follow up as applicable.
- Assist with inventories and cost controlling.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities including ensuring facility/amenities are in proper working order. Report maintenance concerns to Manager/Director and see through with reporting on property work order processes.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Function as Spa and/or Club MOD as assigned.
- Available to work flexible shifts including weekends, AM and PM shifts and holidays as business dictates.
- Must be able to cross-train in other club-related areas.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Hygiene is key in this environment due to the close proximity of working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes or breath of a spa employee during a shift.
- Respond to any special projects and reasonable tasks as assigned by the Director/Manager.
- Assist Director/Manager with suggestions and creative marketing ideas.
- Assists Director/Manager with completion of inventory and end of month procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-year experience in a spa or related field required.
- Previous experience in developing and leading a team required.
- Strong knowledge of spa services, credential requirements and best practices.
- 1-year retail experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
- Proficient in Spa Soft software preferred.
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Weekend, holiday and evening hours may be required.
- Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Regular use of stairs.
