Position Overview:
Trophy Point Investment Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to oversee financial operations and drive decision-making across the organization. This individual will lead budgeting, forecasting, portfolio reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in private lending or real estate finance and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Provide strategic insights to executive leadership to support business growth and operational efficiency
- Evaluate investment performance and capital deployment strategies
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant lending/real estate regulations
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely filing of tax documents (1098s, 1099s, etc.)
Portfolio Oversight
- Analyze loan performance metrics, including ROI and cost of capital
- Reconcile bank transactions, loan payments, escrow accounts, and investor distributions
- Partner with loan servicing and accounting to ensure accuracy across the portfolio
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement robust financial controls to manage risk and safeguard assets
- Conduct internal audits to detect and correct discrepancies
- Ensure timely reporting to financial partners and lenders
Team Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Loan Servicing, and Leadership teams
- Mentor and manage junior finance team members, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance/accounting, with at least 3 years in the lending or real estate industry (REQUIRED)
- Prior experience in a leadership role at a financial institution, private lender, or real estate investment firm
- Strong command of GAAP, portfolio analysis, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Excel, and financial modeling
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
