Position Overview
Trophy Point Investment Group is seeking a skilled Finance Manager with expertise in both accounting and finance to play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm, and a strong background in financial reporting, portfolio oversight, and compliance. This role will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager to maintain robust internal controls and checks and balances. Additionally, the Finance Manager will work alongside the Loan Servicing department to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight
- Monitor and reconcile portfolio performance, including tracking interest income, fees, and expenses.
- Ensure accurate reporting of loan servicing data and oversee reconciliation of bank statements to loan portfolio transactions.
- Analyze financial metrics, including return on investment (ROI) and weighted average cost of capital (WACC).
Reporting Requirements
- Work directly with our auditor to provide all documentation required to complete the audit (Q1).
- Send out all 1098s and 1099s on or before IRS deadline (January 31).
- Conduct internal audits of financial records, loan portfolios, and bank reconciliations to identify discrepancies or risks to prepare for annual audit (Monthly).
- Send required monthly reports to banking partners per their requirements (Monthly).
- Partner with the Accounting Manager to review and verify financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
Collaboration and Checks and Balances
- Partner with the Accounting Manager to review and verify financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct internal audits of financial records, loan portfolios, and bank reconciliations to identify discrepancies or risks.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Loan Servicing and Reporting
- Collaborate with the Loan Servicing department to verify loan payments, escrow accounts, and payoff statements.
- Review and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including FDCPA and CFPB.
- Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports to stakeholders, including performance metrics and variance analyses.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance relative to budgets, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.
- Conduct cash flow analysis and 13-week cash forecasts to ensure optimal liquidity.
Special Projects and Process Improvement
- Lead ad hoc financial analyses and special projects, including process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend financial systems or tools to streamline operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA certification preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting/finance, with preference for Big 4 public accounting, private credit and/or consulting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and compliance frameworks.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Experience with loan servicing software and financial reporting platforms is a plus.
