Summary: Individuals in the job are responsible for assisting Tropical Financial Credit Union in achieving its purpose of guiding members successfully through the financial marketplace. The Lending Processor position is responsible for funding and servicing loans with accuracy and efficiency while ensuring compliance with TFCU policies and regulatory standards. The role requires supporting the processing of consumer loan applications, generating and finalizing loan documents, setting up and disbursing loans, and auditing completed files for accuracy. Additionally, this role will respond to members and staff inquiries, provide support to members in acquiring, reviewing and completing the documents correctly while ensuring a seamless lending experience. Success in this role requires a commitment to operational excellence, integrity, teamwork, and delivering exceptional member service while consistently meeting funding goals with minimal errors.
JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Reviews and verifies loan applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness before funding.
- Prepares and finalizes loan documents, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Coordinates with members to complete loan closings, ensuring all required documents are signed and funds are disbursed promptly.
- Clears loan conditions, processes loan modifications, and ensures proper documentation before funding.
- Posts funded loans accurately in the system and ensures proper loan setup.
- Processes credit card, payoffs, and other loan-related disbursements.
- Audits completed loan files to ensure accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
- Works with internal teams to resolve funding issues and prevent processing delays.
- Works closely with the Lending Officers to facilitate seamless loan processing.
- Ensures funding goals are consistently met while maintaining a low error rate.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with members, and internal staff.
- Ensures an exceptional member experience by assisting with loan applications and addressing inquiries.
- Resolves member concerns or complex lending issues, escalating as needed.
- Identifies and escalates suspicious activities, such as fraud or CTR circumvention.
- Scans loan documentation, processes draw and wire requests, and files documentation.
- Proactively cross-sells additional loan products.
- Ensures all loan documentation adheres to TFCU policies and regulatory requirements, conducts post-closing audits, and identifies and escalates potential compliance risks.
BSA Compliance: Every employee is required to uphold the Credit Union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money laundering (AML) policies and procedures.
- This role takes into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department.
- In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually.
- Ensure ongoing individual compliance with all regulatory requirements established in the SAFE Act, if required.
- Knowledgeable of BSA, Customer Identification Program (CIP), USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act, Fair Lending, and Risk-Based Pricing.
- Comply with all TFCU policies and procedures to ensure compliance with such regulations.
