A hotel maintenance staff member is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various systems and fixtures within a hotel building, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and appliances, by performing preventative maintenance checks, responding to repair requests, and completing minor installations to ensure the hotel facilities remain functional and safe for guests and staff. Key responsibilities may include:
- Preventative maintenance:Regularly inspecting and servicing systems like HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, and fire safety equipment to prevent malfunctions.
- Responding to work orders:Promptly addressing maintenance requests from guests and staff, including repairs to light fixtures, leaky faucets, broken doors, and malfunctioning appliances.
- Minor repairs:Performing basic repairs like patching walls, replacing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, and adjusting door hardware.
- Basic installations:Installing new light fixtures, replacing worn-out flooring, and mounting hardware as needed.
- Cleaning and upkeep:Maintaining cleanliness of mechanical rooms, equipment, and work areas.
- Logging maintenance activities:Keeping detailed records of repairs completed, including date, time, issue, and parts used.
- Safety compliance:Adhering to safety procedures and regulations when performing maintenance tasks.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
