Job Description:
This position will be responsible for the Manufacturing Department. Duties include managing product quality, manufacturing processes, performance indicators, safety, sanitation and cost containment. This position will also be responsible for supervising the Production Supervisors and making recommendations in the areas of hiring, discipline and termination. The Production Manager will be called upon to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgement in his/her management decisions. They will be responsible for management of all manufacturing lines.
Production
- Work with all departments to coordinate production, PM, and Sanitation schedules and events.
- Maintain/exceed established production standards.
- Participate in new product development and introductions.
- Maintain product formulation integrity.
- Manage and control cost as it relates to budgeted labor, raw materials, packaging and waste.
- Participate in ongoing process and machine operation training.
Personnel
- Lead and motivate Production Supervisors.
- Make recommendations for corrective action and termination.
- Maintain open/active communication with all levels of the organization.
Control
- Monitor and enforce established GMP, OSHA, HACCP rules and regulations.
- Maintain high quality standards.
Sanitation/Housekeeping
- Maintain the highest standards in sanitation and housekeeping with a focus on food safety.
- Participate in the implementation and maintenance of HACCP programs.
- Coordinate sanitation projects with the Sanitation Department.
- Maintain AIB readiness at all times.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or comparable work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in production leadership, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
