Electro Mechanical / Optical Technician

Responsibilities:
This position reports to the VP of Manufacturing and will support all manufacturing functions. This is a growth position as the company continue to evolve and support both military and commercial activities.
- Build the fiber optic illumination system components
- Build the LED lighting fixtures
- Test the components and systems
- Assist in the development and fabrication of new illuminators, lamp reflectors, luminaires, and other non-imaging devices
- Assist in the characterization of the emission and performance of different light sources including metal halides, LED's, and lasers
- Provide support in the development of the technical documentation and the data deliverables pertaining to the illumination systems
- Assist with testing, qualification, installation, and system integration at the test facility and at the customer site which are shipyards, oil & gas operations, industrial sites.
- Assist with the programming, installation, and commissioning of remote fiber optic distributed sensing systems for the detection of gases and temperature
Requirements
- Requires a strong background in the areas of electromechanics, optics, illumination, fiber optics, and optical devices.
- An understanding of the US Department of defense programs and development cycles is a plus
- Associate degree in Optics, Electro-Mechanics or a similar discipline is preferred and/or commensurable experience related to elecgtro-mechanical components assembly and testing
- US Citizenship or permanent residency is required, with the ability to obtain Secret Clearance if necessary
