APRN Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

The mission of Troup Cares Clinic is to support the provision of high-quality medical care at no cost to uninsured and underinsured Troup County residents, ages 19 through 64, with an annual income at or below 200% of the poverty level. The primary responsibilities of the Clinic Nurse Practitioner are to provide high-quality patient care for adults aged 19-64 under the direction of the Medical Director and under the free clinic guidelines for service.

The Nurse Practitioner will also work with volunteer physicians, clinic partners, and other medical staff employed or in partnership with the clinic. The position reports to the Medical Director and Executive Clinic Director.

Responsibilities

Patient Care (Clinical):

1. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, examine and screen new and current patients to determine patient needs, treatments, additional tests, or referrals.

2. Ensures the patient's medical records are complete, applications are reviewed for accuracy and inclusion of previous medical reports, etc.

3. Coordinates with WellStar West Georgia (WSWG) and other providers to ensure the patient's medical records have all recent test reports, physician notes, etc.

4. Provides patient education and care management based on patient needs.

Medical Clinic Coordination:

1. Coordinates/Supervises medical clinic staff and receptionist.

a. Participates in the annual evaluation of clinic staff and other network members with the Executive Director

b. Assists staff and network members as needed. Guides and advises staff in prioritizing patient and clinic needs.

c. Discusses the various clinical staffing needs, including the volunteer and paid staff, with the Medical Director and Executive Director.

Professional growth and excellence:

1. Maintains continuing education and licensing requirements.

2. Keeps current on trends and advances in care as related to the clinic patients.

3. Maintains technology skills for electronic health records, telehealth, and other medical equipment.

4. Provides education and training for the clinic and medical staff.

Maintains the highest standard of professional and caring behavior:

1. Maintains a prompt and consistent attendance record.

2. Respond to calls and requests in a prompt and professional manner

3. Maintains caring and professional working relationships with all staff, volunteers, and clinic partners.

Qualifications:

1. Licensed in the State of Georgia as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

2. Current Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or Adult-Gerontology in Acute Care (AGACNP), and License as a nurse practitioner.

3. Six months of clinical practice experience in a nurse practitioner practice role, preferred.

4. Understanding of Troup Cares, Inc. philosophy as a network and clinic that provides medical care to the uninsured and underinsured residents of Troup County, Georgia, in a caring, compassionate, and quality manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
