Job Title: Special Education TeacheR- ANTICIPATED
Campus: High School
Length of Work Year: 10 months
Position Summary:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Effectively perform all duties and tasks as defined by the job description and as requested by the campus principal.
Position Requirements:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsement
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Experience:
Proven performance as a qualified teacher preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Highly effective leadership in promoting student achievement
- Ability to manage student behavior
- Strong knowledge of subject area
