We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic team in Downtown Mystic's only gift shop curated with him in mind. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining an organized and inviting store environment. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail setting.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products.
- Provide knowledgeable information about products and promotions to enhance customer experience.
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Maintain stock levels by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock checks.
- Supervise junior staff members when necessary, ensuring adherence to store policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
Skills
- Proficient in basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with diverse customers.
- Familiarity with POS systems for processing sales transactions efficiently.
- Familiarity with Excel.
- Knowledge of retail math concepts to assist in inventory management.
- Strong phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Keen eye and sense of aesthetics for merchandising product.
- Ability to supervise team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to complete tasks quickly and accurately.
