Trove Family Office, has offices located in various locations across the United States including Boston (MA), New York City, Bryn Mawr, (PA), Stamford (CT), and Salt Lake City (UT). Trove is a multi-family office focusing on wealth administration services for families and their entities. We serve as a familys controller, collecting and structuring their transaction data, coordinating / facilitating estate matters and reporting on investment performance and allocations.
Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on accounting and client service experience. This position will work directly with the Family Office division to help perform daily accounting and administrative operations for our ultra-high net worth individuals. The internship will take place during the Summer from May to August in our Stamford, CT office. While working under several accounting professionals our interns will receive hands-on training to ensure they have valuable experience to help launch their careers!
Learning Objectives:
Gain exposure / experience on various software applications (general ledger, bill pay, etc.)
Understand classification of expenses on financial statements
Effectively communicate with staff and management in a professional manner
Be able to review and interpret financial statements
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Categorizing expense transactions to the appropriate financial statement line item
Reconciling cash accounts to monthly bank statements
Administrative tasks such as scanning, downloading, re-naming and storing third party documents and files
Analyzing cash availability and cash needs for our engagements
You May Be an Ideal Candidate if:
You are working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting or related field with an accounting GPA of 3.0
You are proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
You have the ability to work 20 hours a week in one of our offices
You like to challenge yourself and feel accomplished after solving a problem
You have no accounting experience - but you are an organized, multi-tasker who is eager and ready to learn in a fast-paced environment
You are not afraid to receive and learn from feedback.
Location:
This role will require you to be on-site 3-5 days a week at our Stamford, CT office. Candidates will need reliable transportation to get them to and from the office.
